How to get your music finished
So what’s the best way to finish your music?
Here’s my two pennies worth.
In my opinion the best way is to record as quickly as possible when your in the groove.
As long as the creative juices are flowing, be as efficient as possible.
Get the track down, record your parts, get a rough mix, then just polish it off, master, a few checks on different speakers, then send it off to the big wide spider net.
Unless of course you’re building a coherent album, in which cast it gets a bit more complicated.
Anyway, why do I think this? It’s from experience, my own, and others that I have witnessed.
If you leave your song too long, you will end up not liking it anymore, or usually wanting to add parts, change things.
I remember going round to a mate’s house who was working on a tune, it seemed really good, he was totally into it, but he never finished it, a few weeks later I went back and the tune had metamorphosed into a different song, and the original energy was lost.
Other people just never release, they are always waiting to get everything perfect, and they are never satisfied.
So that’s my two tuppences, just get it done, just do it.
